Favourite animals:
birds and dogs
A Bit About Me
I love animals, mainly dogs because they love you without reservations, and birds because they are beautiful and free.
I love people, because we are beautiful and interesting, each one unique but we understand each other. And when we don't understand each other, we at least try.
I love food, because it smells wonderful and because you can know the one who made it through it. My favorite is ice-cream with hot chocolate fudge.
I love poetry, because with it I can speak and feel and ... live.
And why languages?
I discovered the world of language as a Czech child. I loved reading right away. By the time I finished high school, I had learned English, Russian, and German. Through Anglo-american studies and Bohemistics at the Charles University in Prague, I learned linguistics, literary theory and translation. At Denver Seminary in the US I added Biblical Hebrew and NT Greek, at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Modern Hebrew.
